Vauxhall confirms pricing for all-new Insignia Grand Sport

On sale now, the Insignia Grand Sport is priced from £17,115 OTR.

That’s for the 1.5-litre, 140PS petrol Grand Sport in Design trim, with the 5-door range topping out at £26,755 OTR for the Grand Sport Elite Nav trim with the 2.0 Turbo diesel. Sports Tourer prices start at £18,615 OTR for the 1.5 Design model to 28,255 for the 2.0 Turbo diesel in Elite Nav trim.

The 2017 Insignia Grand Sport is based on a completely new vehicle architecture. Its revised proportions result in a more spacious interior, giving the car a more ‘athletic appearance’ and an improved road stance, including class-leading aerodynamics and Cd figure of 0.26, says Vauxhall.

Optimised packaging and the use of lightweight materials have helped cut the weight by up to 175kg, allowing high-tech features such as the all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring and the new eight-speed automatic transmission to ‘exploit their strengths to the full'. Next generation IntelliLux LED matrix lighting, Lane Keep Assist, Head-up-Display and unique AGR-certified premium seats, front- and rear-seat heating and a heated windshield all feature on the new model.

The latest generation IntelliLink systems and Vauxhall OnStar will offer further functionality for customers, allowing occupants to book hotel rooms and search for suitable parking spots via an OnStar advisor. The Insignia is also the first Vauxhall with an active aluminium bonnet, improving pedestrian protection considerably.

The new Insignia Grand Sport has a range of six petrol and diesel powertrains ranging from 110PS to 260PS, including an all-new 1.5-litre Turbo petrol unit. The entry-level version offers 140PS (NEDC fuel consumption: urban 37.7mpg, combined 47.6mpg; 133g/km CO2).

The entry diesel, 1.6-litre Turbo D ecoTEC available with either 110PS (NEDC fuel consumption: urban 61.4mpg, combined 70.6mpg; 105g/km CO2.
