Lexus RX pricing confirmed

Lexus has confirmed the new RX will start at £39,995 OTR.

Combining advanced technology features with a 'striking design, fine craftsmanship and exceptional comfort' - UK customers will have two powertrains to choose from. There will be a full hybrid system with 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine in the RX 450h as well as the new Lexus 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit in the RX 200t.

All hybrids will feature E-Four all-wheel drive, while the RX 200t will be offered in front-wheel drive format in the entry-level S model and with all-wheel drive in the higher grade versions.

The entry point to the RX 200t line-up is the S grade model, which is available exclusively with front-wheel drive. Highlights of the equipment specification includes dual-zone climate control, rear privacy glass, heated front seats, Lexus Navigation with an eight-inch display screen, a nine-speaker audio system with DAB, reversing camera, LED headlamps, roof rails and dual chrome-tipped exhausts.

The specification is matched by the RX 450h SE, which leads off the full hybrid range, with the addition of an auto-dimming rear-view and door mirrors, smooth leather upholstery, eight-way power adjustable heated/ventilated front seats and memory settings for the steering wheel, driver's seat and door mirrors. Roof rails are not included in the SE specification.

The RX 200t and RX 450h Luxury feature all-wheel drive, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with memory settings, Lexus Premium Navigation with 12.3-inch display screen and DVD player, 20-inch alloy wheels, power tailgate with "no-touch" opening, "triple-L" LED headlights, wireless smartphone charger, and auto-dimming door mirrors with memory setting.

Both versions of the new RX are available as F Sport models. The exterior styling is given extra emphasis with an even stronger treatment of the front spindle grille and the addition of F Sport-specific features, including dedicated front and rear bumpers, black door mirror housings, F Sport 20-inch alloys and (on the 200t) twin F Sport rear exhausts.

On the inside, F Sport front seats and steering wheel can be found along with perforated leather upholstery, drilled aluminium pedals and a specific illumination design for the instrument panel and doors. The F Sport models share the same equipment list as the Luxury grade but with the addition of low-speed cornering fog lights and sun shades on the rear doors as well as dynamic ride, handling and control features, including Adaptive Variable Suspension, Lexus's Sport Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system and sports-tuned electric power steering.

Premier grade is exclusive to the RX 450h and delivers many advanced technologies and 'premium quality features'. They include semi-aniline leather upholstery with 10-way power adjustable front seats. Both driver and front passenger seat have memory settings and multi-adjustable, power lumbar support for ultimate comfort. A colour head-up display, 15-speaker Mark Levinson surround audio system, 360-degree view monitor and a heated steering wheel are also provided and illuminated scuff plates add extra quality detailing. Customers can select their preference of a sunroof or (opening) panoramic roof. In common with the F Sport, the RX 450h Premier is fitted with Adaptive Variable Suspension and low-speed cornering lights.

A new head-up display is part of the standard specification for the RX 450h Premier and is available as an option for F Sport models.

All versions of the new RX are equipped with Lexus Safety System+, a suite of active safety and driver assistance features. The package includes Pre-Crash Safety, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Keep Assist and Automatic High Beam.

On the RX 450h Premier, the Automatic High Beam function is replaced by the Adaptive High Beam system, which automatically adjusts distribution of light from the high beam headlights to avoid dazzling other road users, maintaining a higher level of illumination in night-time driving.

The RX 200t S features black fabric and Tahara leather-effect upholstery with matching black interior trim and carpeting. Smooth leather upholstery is available as an option on this grade and provided as standard on SE and Luxury versions in Black, Topaz Brown or Ivory, with respective black trim or Noble Brown (including the steering wheel, centre console, seatbelts, carpeting, door panels and seatbacks).

On the road pricing starts at £39,995 for the RX 200t S to £57,995 for the range-topping RX 450h Premier. The F Sport models start at £48,995 for the RX 200t.
