Nissan adds N-TEC to Micra line-up

Nissan is expanding its Micra range with a new N-TEC model.

Positioned between the existing Acenta and Tekna models, the new Micra N-TEC’s standard equipment includes the lastest-generation NissanConnect system featuring satellite navigation and smartphone integration, accessed via a 5.8-inch colour touchscreen.

It also comes Google Send-To-Car technology, which allows an owner to plan a journey on their PC or tablet at home or in the office and then send the instructions to the car ahead of the journey.

Other technologies fitted as standard to the new Micra N-TEC include automatic climate control, rain sensing windscreen wipers, automatic headlights, Rear Parking Sensors and Parking Slot Measurement. These last two features work together to help drivers find the perfect parking space. Parking Slot Measurement alerts the driver via a dashboard display as to whether the car can be safely parked in the space or not. The system can even be adjusted to account for the driver's skill - amateur, normal or expert.

The new Micra N-TEC is available with either the entry-level 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 80PS, or the supercharged 1.2-litre DIG-S unit that develops 98PS. The former is available with a CVT automatic transmission as an option.

The N-TEC is distinguished externally by 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, rear privacy glass, silver satin door mirrors and door handles. Inside, the centre console is finished in gloss black with blue stitching on the trim and leather-covered steering wheel.

Priced from £12,400 and available to order now, the Nissan Micra N-TEC will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September 2015.
